Biomedical Library Subscribes to VisualDX

Based on the enthusiastic feedback from physicians, residents and students and the usage report during our trial period from August 2016-January 2017, the Biomedical Library has decided to subscribe to VisualDx, a differential diagnosis tool that focuses on improving diagnostic accuracy through visualization of diseases. It is also an educational resource for health science students and residents and can be used as a point-of-care reference. The database covers over 2,700 pediatric and adult conditions with almost 40,000 images, and is an appropriate application for the fields of dermatology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, and pediatrics. The tool supports limiting by symptoms/signs, location, patient age, sex, and more after the initial search.

The web version of VisualDx is connected to UpToDate and vice versa to make it easy to navigate between UpToDate and VisualDx. You may access VisualDx from the Biomedical Library's website under Library Resources/Databases and Resources on the left-hand sidebar.  In addition, the VisualDx mobile app is available on iOS and Android.  From the VisualDx database on our website, scroll down and click on "Get the Mobile App" to register for a personal account to be used on a mobile device. Then download the app in the App store.
